I am a 1998 graduate of Berklee College of Music with a B.S. in Music Education and a 2010 graduate of American International College with a Master of Education, MEd, Educational Leadership and Administration.
For 9 years, I served as the Director of Music for the Swansea Public School System in Swansea, Massachusetts where I was the director of The Joseph Case High School "Cardinals" Marching Band, Concert Band, Jazz Ensemble, Chorus and Show Choir.
For the next 14 years, I served as the Director of Bands at Somerset Berkley Regional High School and starting in 2018, served as the Coordinator of the Fine and Performing Arts. During that time, I directed the Somerset Berkley Regional High School "Blue Raider" Marching Band, Symphonic Wind Ensemble, Concert Band, Jazz Band, Show Choir Pit Band, Winter Marching Arts Ensembles, and Spring Musical Pit Orchestra. These ensembles have won numerous awards including 8 State and 2 National Championships.
Starting in May 2021, I have begun a new chapter in my career in which I will be able to assist band directors, students and music communities across the country by accepting the position of Ensemble Relations Manager at USBands.
I have been the President and Director of the East Bay Summer Wind Ensemble and East Bay Summer Youth Ensemble (East Bay Association for the Arts, Inc.) since 2006 (Member since 1990). The organization’s mission is to provide community musicians (amateur, student and professional) with a quality summer music experience while providing first-rate traditional and contemporary band music performances to neighboring communities. Each summer, these ensembles perform throughout Rhode Island and Southeastern Massachusetts providing concerts of high-quality wind ensemble literature of all genres.
I have also published articles for the BAND App on communication methods for band directors to better communicate with students, staff and parents. Both I and my students have been featured in many promotional videos for the BAND App.
I also serve as a music minister for St. Mary's Church in Bristol, RI. in addition to performing throughout Southern New England with various other artists including Ritchee Price, Michael DiMucci, Phoebe Madden and many others as a saxophonists, pianist, and vocalist.
I am an active member of the following music organizations: MENC (The National Association for Music Education), MMEA (Massachusetts Music Educators' Association), TI:ME (Technology Institute for Music Educators), NESBA (New England Scholastic Band Association) and USBANDS (United States Bands).
